October
Burn of Glaslaw, Dunnottar Woods
By the end of October, I wanted to try and get a particularly autumnal shot of some broadleaf woodlands turning bronze and ochre. Edzell Woods near the Rocks of Solitude and the Blue Door Walk were a candidate (I would 100% recommend a visit here in autumn if you haven’t been) but I wanted to try somewhere closer to home near Stonehaven. Local Dunnottar Woods had potential, however I found the beech trees here were actually still fairly green this far into autumn. Being a sucker for waterfalls, I was instead drawn to the rushing Burn of Glaslaw, which was swollen after the previous day’s rain.
