Loch Torridon
We arrived at the summit of Mullach an Rathain to be greeted with a jaw-dropping coastal vista. Within the space of barely two kilometres, all 1023m of Liathach’s sandstone bulk plunges down into the depths of Loch Torridon, giving an immense feeling of height. I was with three members of my hill walking club and after completing the second of this mountain’s two Munros, we took a while to look back at the pinnacles we had scrambled over, then to look forward again at that view out west over the Hebrides. As we lingered, we were overtaken by a pair of trail runners who had been racing along. They continued on before turning left to head south off the ridge. Now silhouetted against the sapphire blue of the loch, I enjoyed the framing of the scene, so papped away with my camera, very happy that I did so.
